Different theories, for example specialization theory, can explain the division of care and work in different-sex couples’ transition to parenthood. But what happens if scholars apply such theories to same-sex couples’ transition to parenthood? In her lecture, Professor Evertsson presented research findings based on Swedish population register data in which she analysed the transition to parenthood for different-sex and same-sex couples.
