    Malaika Pauline Yanou is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam at the Institute of Social Science Research (AISSR) and COLANDS project (CIFOR). Her research focus is on the contribution of local knowledge to implement a landscape approach in Kalomo District, Zambia. Particularly, to understand the role of different knowledge systems in knowledge production processes as well as to uncover the politics of knowledge by addressing power relations.

    Previously Malaika joined CIFOR as research consultant working on landscape approaches, restoration and food security issues.

    She holds a MA in International relations and diplomatic affairs at the University of Bologna (Italy) and a MSc in food security and development at the University of Reading (UK). She is interested in decoloniality studies and visual anthropology.
