  • Profile

Sanne van Oosten is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science of the University of Amsterdam. Her research project focusses on how intersections of gender, race/ethnicity and religion shape the expectations and experiences of representation among individual citizens. Through conducting survey experiments with an oversample of specific ethnic groups in the Netherlands, Germany and France she analyses the relationship between citizen and politician using an intersectional framework. Not only does she analyse the intersections between gender, race/ethnicity and religion, she also analyses how economic and cultural statements influence the ways in which gender, race/ethnicity and religion are perceived.

Before starting this research Sanne van Oosten taught and coordinated methodology courses at the Political Science Department of the University of Amsterdam.
